Festival of Marketing – Day 2
2 days, 100s of speakers, 120kgs of pick and mix, 30 kilos of chocolate and one hell of a sugar rush… well, we are all about the numbers!
Festival of Marketing is over for another year, but we’ve had the best time meeting new people, listening to experts in their fields, and enjoying our chocolate fountain (of course).
Among all of the amazing speakers, a few of our highlights from day two included Tom Goodwin Head of Innovation at Zenith, who spoke about the changes in technology and to what extent they matter for marketers and society, Carolyn McCall CEO of ITV, who shared her knowledge of marketing and business after working in companies like The Guardian and EasyJet.
We also loved visiting some of the amazing brands that were showcasing alongside us in Festival City, some of these included:
Econsultancy:
Influencer Intelligence:
Marketing Week Mini MBA:
FoM closed its doors with VP (Northern Europe) of Facebook, Steve Hatch and Marketing Week Columnist Mark Ritson delivering a heated but really entertaining discussion around Facebook and their recent privacy breaches, it’s relevance in current marketing strategy, and the future of marketing. Both men had plenty to say to each other, and gave a great talk to end an even greater festival!
A few favourite moments from Ritson Vs Hatch were:
Hatch: ‘What do you like about Facebook from a user perspective and marketing perspective?’ Ritson: ‘My Dad uses it because he has very little else to do’.
Ritson: ‘Is there a decay in this business, i.e do digital brands need to acquire other digital companies to grow?’ Hatch: ‘Unquestionably there has been a change in how we are consuming media. It’s hard to grow Facebook beyond its 40 million users’.
Thank you to everyone who came to see us at the B2B Sweet Spot, who knows what we’ll unveil at next years’ event…watch this space!
